The oversized vacuum chuck plate, with adjustable pins, accommodates petrographic sections from 27 x 46 mm to 2&#8243; x 3&#8243;; each unit is individually ground in to provide perfect parallelism. Quieter than most units of its type, its 6&#8243; diamond cup wheel is belt driven through a precision quill assembly featuring tapered cone bearings for unerring stability. Mounted specimens are finished via a right-mounted rocking arm, with thickness adjusted by a precisely tuned micrometer feed. A finely directed coolant spray keeps the grinding surface clean at all times. Constructed of stainless steel, anodized and cast aluminum. A user\u2019s manual is included.
